Langara College is a public degree-granting college provides a variety of qualifications, including bachelorette degrees, associate degrees, certificates, diplomas, and also citations. The college is named after the Spanish Admiral Juan de Lángara.
Langara College was started in 1965 as part of the Vancouver Community College. In 1994, it was established as an independent public college located in beautiful Vancouver, BC, Canada. More than 21,000 students join an education there every year. The college hosted international students representing 93 countries in the year 2019-2020. They offer more than 90 programs and more than 1000 courses with university transfer programs.
Langara College offer various field study opportunities to students like archaeology field school; India connects scholarship program; European field studies in Thailand, Italy, Korea, Vietnam field studies in business and culture; Gothic field studies the UK; China field studies; New York theatre and Japan field studies in history and culture.
Infrastructure:
Langara College has a beautiful and well-organized campus in Vancouver and has an accessibility entrance, parking areas for bikes and other vehicles with an electric vehicle charging station. The campus has also a library with huge collections of books, magazines, journals, newspapers and media materials to support all the research needs of the students. There is a variety of study spaces, computer labs, wireless access and printing facilities over there. All the buildings and classrooms are well-equipped with technologies like learning management systems, web conferencing, screencasting, video management, podcasting and presentation tools.
Elligiblity for Langara:
Requirements may vary depending on which program the student chooses to apply to. Below are the test scores and other requirements for admission at Langara:
- Completion of a BC Secondary or equivalent program and/ or be at least 19 years of age by the start of the
- first semester and/ or completion of an A.B.E. or G.E.D. program.
- Completed application form.
- Official mark sheets or proof of graduation showing grades obtained and subjects taken in the last three years.
- Letter of recommendation
- SOP to study in Canada
- Proof of English language proficiency
- Student Permit
- TOEFL: 550 Paper Based
- IELTS: 6.5
- CAEL: 60

Admission requirements are outlined in a separate tab on each program’s page. - Apply on Education Planner BC (EPBC). If you would like to apply by completing a paper application form, please contact admissions@langara.ca so that we may help you with the process.
- If you have one, make sure you have your Personal Education Number (PEN) handy when you apply.
- At the end of the EPBC application, you will be asked to pay a $40 (domestic) application fee by credit card. Don’t have a credit card? Contact admissions@langara.ca for other ways to pay.
- Receive an offer.
- Once we have received all of your required documents and grades, your application will be assessed. If you are accepted to your chosen program, you will be sent an offer by email.
- Accept your offer.
- Make sure you log into your Student Information System account to accept your offer. No deposit is required and you can still change your mind at any time. However, accepting your offer ensures you a spot in the program, and is a step you need to complete before you can register for classes.
